Lucas here again! How's it going? Did you miss me? ...No? Oh. Well, Allison's gone home on vacation for a couple weeks, so you're stuck with me! It also means we may not have a new comic until she returns, but she has promised to provide us with amusing doodles until then. I wait with bated breath.
(I had to check the spelling on that saying. Apparently 'baited breath' is a common mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. The internets tell me 'bated' is like 'abated' as in 'lessened' as in 'I've almost stopped breathing in anticipation/fear/awe', which makes sense, but we don't use the verb 'to bate' except in that idiom. Apparently Shakespeare was the first person to use the expression, in The Merchant of Venice. Shakespeare also coined such phrases as 'break the ice', 'dead as a doornail', 'wild-goose chase' and 'eaten me out of house and home', which coincidentally is what my gaming group does on a regular basis.
